Engaging physicians in healthcare delivery is essential if we are going to rise and conquer the challenges of the healthcare landscape of the 21st century and beyond. Doctors’ Opinions Count (D.O.C.) is a novel, customizable, HIPAA compliant, communication platform specifically designed to create a free flow of communication between the Medical Staff and the Administration and to tap into the collective intelligence of the medical staff by involving them in healthcare decision making processes. D.O.C. creates a more agile hospital environment where problems are identified earlier and ideas are implemented more rapidly; giving the hospital a more competitive edge in this rapidly changing healthcare environment.
The D.O.C. platform recreates the physician communication process which has degraded over the years because of the growth of hospital-based specialties, economic pressures, time demands, and the changing ages and norms of providers. The D.O.C. platform recreates the physician communication process which has degraded over the years because of the growth of hospital-based specialties, economic pressures, time demands, and the changing ages and norms of providers. Using D.O.C., physicians and medical staff members can collaborate with each other, hospital employees, and hospital administrations in a unique and collective effort to improve physician engagement, decrease physician burnout, and remain competitive in the healthcare space.
1. People are analog, not digital, everyone is unique
2. Without a physician's input, there is no healthcare
3. Every physician deserves to be heard, because their opinion counts
4. Our individual diversity defines us, but our collective voice empowers us
5. Healthcare is about a culture of inclusion.
6. Physicians need to be the leaders of the healthcare team.

The charter of any standard corporation is to increase shareholder value over time by earning a profit. Shareholders benefit, monetarily, from that value creation either via asset appreciation or dividend distribution.
The D.O.C. corporation is a little different because D.O.C. is a benefit corporation. Benefit corporations utilize a “triple bottom line”:
People
Planet
Profit
As a benefit corporation, D.O.C.’s charter is to “People” and “Planet” first. The purpose of D.O.C. is to give physicians a voice and bring them back to the healthcare debate. (People) Doing so, would give physicians a say in healthcare decision making. It is my hope that this improved collaboration between physicians and administrations will then lead to improvements in healthcare. Improving healthcare will make the world a better place. (Planet) This is how D.O.C. creates value for its shareholders. While my hope is that D.O.C. will eventually earn a profit; that is secondary to its true purpose.
Mission of D.O.C.:
To improve human health outcomes by giving Doctors a voice and engaging them across the healthcare delivery system to achieve a greater good.
